Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaudencio Jerrald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Behzat Altuncuoğlu's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when MaviAteşSK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Jerrald didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Ecuador players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. MaviAteşSK were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, MaviAteşSK's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gaudencio Jerrald, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 93rd minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. MaviAteşSK were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Ecuador's much stronger midfield.
