In the 12th minute, Ricardo Barea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Barea in the 34th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pars Gazzali showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 39th minute of the match. Pars Gazzali made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Julio Vera when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. In the 70th minute Ricardo Barea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Ricardo Barea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Team Calamity SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Barea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Team Calamity SC's Şahap Akın was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Team Calamity SC.
