Rubens Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Cunha having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xande Sharkin in the 16th minute of play forced AVAÍ F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcos Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Sági could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Umberto Cunha made a huge save. Walmyr Salles might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Umberto Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walmyr Salles ran back to his position shaking his head. Ivory Gunn hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Marcos Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Czornomaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 22 minutes AVAÍ F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Xande Sharkin who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Bebeto Medeiros got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcos Buffon quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 28thth minute of the game Dario Alegría who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pégasus F. C.'s Umberto Cunha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 30 minutes into the match, AVAÍ F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Qiao Ang Le came free, but Marcos Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Dario Alegría's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Umberto Cunha was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. AVAÍ F.C.'s Marcos Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xande Sharkin in the 33rd minute of play. A collision led to AVAÍ F.C. getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Ivory Gunn hit a great ball. The supporters of Pégasus F. C. booed when AVAÍ F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Alegría didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute Adrian Czornomaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xande Sharkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of AVAÍ F.C. booed when Pégasus F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chupan Mangas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 44 minutes, Luiz Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AVAÍ F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walmyr Salles to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Pégasus F. C.'s zone, Walmyr Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto Cunha came out of the goal and Walmyr Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lorenzo Leiva kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Pégasus F. C. made a substitution. Gilberto Soeiro replaced Xande Sharkin. A collision led to Pégasus F. C. getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Lorenzo Leiva hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Alegría in the 58th minute of play forced Pégasus F. C.'s goalkeeper Umberto Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute, Rubens Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. AVAÍ F.C.'s Tarcisio Chaves was substituted for Luiz Pombal. In the 70th minute, Samuca Tepedino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute, Gilberto Soeiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcos Buffon. The goal made the score 0-1. Walmyr Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Umberto Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmyr Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes in the game Chupan Mangas did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Gilberto Soeiro. AVAÍ F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Kurt Groll scored to the left of an out of position Marcos Buffon, making the score, 0-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Pégasus F. C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
