After a rather tough play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Dario Alegría got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Leandro Catarinelli kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After 5 played minutes, Arrebimba o Malho SLB's Bjarte Walle shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcos Buffon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arrebimba o Malho SLB reached it. Marcos Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aldo Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st match minute, AVAÍ F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Pombal to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Arrebimba o Malho SLB's Marciano Eskuin got control of the ball when Walmyr Salles tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Olavo Eiró put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Marcos Buffon. After some careless play in the AVAÍ F.C. defense, Maxim Tilea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Buffon. The AVAÍ F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Buffon should have stopped the shot. Marcos Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olavo Eiró, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walmyr Salles in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marciano Eskuin saved Arrebimba o Malho SLB from getting behind. Marciano Eskuin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Alegría, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Aldo Dias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Buffon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dario Alegría in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marciano Eskuin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Walmyr Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Marciano Eskuin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, AVAÍ F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcos Buffon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Quim Barreiros. Maxim Tilea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Buffon having to interfere. A collision led to AVAÍ F.C. getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Doriva Leão hit a great ball. Marciano Eskuin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarcisio Chaves in the 79th minute of play. After 84 minutes of play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Rubens Cabral made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marciano Eskuin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Walmyr Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot. AVAÍ F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Walmyr Salles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marciano Eskuin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Quim Barreiros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Marcos Buffon made a huge save.
