The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute of the match AC Batán got a corner. AVAÍ F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gong Feng ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a little luck, AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles got control of the ball when José Carlos da Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 18th minute, Dario Alegría hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 played minutes AVAÍ F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Innocenzio Corales. The AC Batán fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when AC Batán's Acácio Nogueira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Acácio Nogueira in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jailson Teles saved AVAÍ F.C. from getting behind. Jailson Teles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Acácio Nogueira in the 33rd minute. AVAÍ F.C.:s Jailson Teles showed great skill when he stopped Acácio Nogueira:s penalty. After 40 minutes of play, AC Batán's Acácio Nogueira made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jailson Teles was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Acácio Nogueira was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, AVAÍ F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Acácio Nogueira came free, but Jailson Teles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 52 minutes into the match, AC Batán's Konrad Wielkopolski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jailson Teles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 66th minute, AC Batán's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rubens Cabral fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. AVAÍ F.C.'s Tarcisio Chaves was substituted for Luiz Pombal. Acácio Nogueira might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jailson Teles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Acácio Nogueira ran back to his position shaking his head. Innocenzio Corales hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Ni Le Zheng was a little too slow when Tarcisio Chaves got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 3-1. AC Batán's Cido Cardozo was substituted for Acácio Nogueira. Cido Cardozo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jailson Teles having to make a save. 81 minutes into the match, AVAÍ F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cido Cardozo came free, but Jailson Teles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, AVAÍ F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Konrad Wielkopolski came free, but Jailson Teles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
