After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Lavatrice prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Flavio Lavatrice showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The supporters of Mexico booed when Molfetta sportiva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fedele Fanelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Lavatrice saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. Flavio Lavatrice came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Alberto Tafalla. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesare Di Renzo in the 56th minute of the match. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Molfetta sportiva's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. In the 60th minute Carmine Iannone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavio Lavatrice read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Luca Rouco kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Domenico Campo came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Flavio Lavatrice made a huge save. In the 82nd minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Ni Liang Yong scored 2-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flavio Lavatrice made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Molfetta sportiva's Flavio Lavatrice got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 94th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Cadaval to maneuver through the defense. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Cirigliano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
