Georg Godholm didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Gaona went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Mexico booed when FC Shifen III was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Nilsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Cesario in the 11th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 minutes of play, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Georg Godholm was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Martin Fossum sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georg Godholm having to interfere. Jacinto Cesario could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. A collision led to FC Shifen III getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Freddy Dimo hit a great ball. FC Shifen III's Martin Fossum got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute of the match, Jacinto Cesario tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dante Lacasa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. FC Shifen III's Georg Godholm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 51st minute of play. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Cesario in the 56th minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Georg Godholm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 62nd minute. In the 67th minute, FC Shifen III's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lautaro Mancebo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. FC Shifen III made a substitution. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Joel Gaona scored 1-4 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Georg Godholm, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 92 minutes of play, FC Shifen III's Kristoffer Jelm made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
