Well-Well O'Connell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. Lautaro Morales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andres Barto in the 19th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Morales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Well-Well O'Connell came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Ψ S.F 25 de Mayo Ψ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Well-Well O'Connell couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Morales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rdth minute of the game Monty Rogers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ψ S.F 25 de Mayo Ψ's Lautaro Morales was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 42 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Monty Rogers. The supporters of USA booed when Ψ S.F 25 de Mayo Ψ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romulo Esiquio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ψ S.F 25 de Mayo Ψ's Romulo Esiquio got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half USA were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Monty Rogers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Lautaro Morales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro Morales stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Monty Rogers's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Lautaro Morales made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cassius Byrne in the 64th minute. Monty Rogers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Lautaro Morales made a huge save. The supporters of USA booed when Ψ S.F 25 de Mayo Ψ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ionică Leu didn't get a good kick on the ball. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. Ionică Leu hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andres Barto in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 77th minute He Song shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when He Song came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, He Song had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Day. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that He Song was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 93rd minute, He Song ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Day was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Sam Campbell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Lautaro Morales made a huge save. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ψ S.F 25 de Mayo Ψ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jenson Smith was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Marco Baker advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-2 in the 97th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the USA players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
