The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Arthur Neiva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Los Rompepiernas getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Rene Crispo hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the game, Los Rompepiernas's Arthur Neiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Martin Liher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Neiva in the 32nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arthur Neiva in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 38th minute Los Rompepiernas were awarded a corner. Rene Crispo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Rene Crispo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Los Rompepiernas were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rene Crispo took the corner. Los Rompepiernas's Rene Crispo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Los Rompepiernas getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Elpidio Eskuin hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Rompepiernas's Arthur Neiva. But to his dismay, Arthur Neiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Los Rompepiernas made a substitution. Niceto Duardo replaced Arthur Neiva. With a little luck, Los Rompepiernas's Martin Liher got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 69 minutes, Antonio Arias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Los Rompepiernas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Los Rompepiernas's Albino Leobardo got a free kick in the 70th minute. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Martin Liher made a huge save. 78 minutes into the game, Niceto Duardo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 81st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. Niceto Duardo took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. 95 minutes into the game, Los Rompepiernas's Niceto Duardo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Los Rompepiernas were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
