Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Everardo Colas's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Everardo Colas put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Marten Palermo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Marten Palermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fede Gomes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agustín Saelices's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 37th minute, Belfegor FC's Everardo Colas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Fede Gomes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Everardo Colas made the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Fede Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 54 minutes, Daniel Zorita mouthed his way into the referee's book. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Felix Montes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marten Palermo in the 95th minute of play. The Belfegor FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
