Natan Coekx kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Taha Akyol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moises Fernandino in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Taha Akyol saved Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Natan Coekx kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ricardo Zorita. That made the score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karel-Jan Biermans during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 31 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Carvallo. In the 35th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateo Leguizamo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentino Ferrant in the 41st minute of play forced Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's goalkeeper Taha Akyol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Abram Luque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karel-Jan Biermans got his second yellow card in the match during the 44th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Karel-Jan Biermans hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moises Fernandino made a kick off. In the 60th minute, Abram Luque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Jorge Magrina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Taha Akyol. Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Magrina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as El Salvador's Moises Fernandino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Taha Akyol. That made the score 1-3 after 71 minutes of play. Moises Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Abram Luque hit a great ball. The El Salvador players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
