In the 5th minute Lizer Cordal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8thth minute of the game Lizer Cordal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lizer Cordal took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 15 minutes into the game, Penuel Football Club's Lizer Cordal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After a rather tough play, Penuel Football Club's Corderall Nieves got a free kick in the 18th minute. Daniel Zorita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Epifanio Gabrio. Penuel Football Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 22nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Epifanio Gabrio but with some difficulty. In the 25th minute, Penuel Football Club's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Hartz Orosco kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 29th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Penuel Football Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Penuel Football Club's Epifanio Gabrio managed to reach the ball for a save. After a defensive mix-up in Penuel Football Club's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Epifanio Gabrio came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Lizer Cordal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ludwig Bergqvist in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Penuel Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pastor Gilesindo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute of the game Primitivo Andino made a throw-in which Cristian Sancho played forward. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Penuel Football Club the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 51st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lizer Cordal got free with Julio Vera in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Lizer Cordal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 59th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Penuel Football Club's Bartoleme Villasante got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Penuel Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Epifanio Gabrio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Penuel Football Club made a substitution. Mitxaut Resco replaced Ludwig Bergqvist. After 67 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. If Chen Shi Ran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chen Shi Ran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After 75 minutes, Corderall Nieves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Penuel Football Club and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Penuel Football Club getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Corderall Nieves hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Penuel Football Club's Corderall Nieves got a free kick in the 76th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chen Shi Ran in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 83 minutes into the match, Penuel Football Club's Chen Shi Ran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Epifanio Gabrio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Penuel Football Club booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute Penuel Football Club were awarded a corner. Victor Amato went to the cornerflag to take it. Epifanio Gabrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ecuador lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
