Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Toma Spasunov took the kick off in the first half of the match. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Abram Luque hit a great ball. Karim Kermali charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karim Kermali the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Karim Kermali hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Moises Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toma Spasunov in the 12th minute of play. Toma Spasunov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Toma Spasunov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karim Kermali kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Mantas Plingis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moises Fernandino in the 30th minute. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mantas Plingis having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, VfB Stuttgart was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nabil Bezzaz to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Toma Spasunov went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Mohammed Ahmed Lacen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toma Spasunov in the 54th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Abram Luque got a free kick in the 59th minute. Ricardo Zorita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rio Darwis in the 62nd minute. 64 minutes into the match, VfB Stuttgart's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Mantas Plingis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. VfB Stuttgart's Mantas Plingis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 71st minute of play. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Ivan Zafirov sent off a good shot on target. Mantas Plingis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 90th minute of play. Toma Spasunov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded VfB Stuttgart left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than El Salvador.
