The crowd rose to their feet as Joel Gaona kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dave Rinaldi. That made the score 4-2 in the 43 minute of play. Dave Rinaldi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 46th minute of play. Thierry Agnel charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thierry Agnel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 46 played minutes Elegance Dijon got a freekick which was hit by Thierry Agnel. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabien Cantin was the one to do the kick off. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thierry Agnel in the 52nd minute of play. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Rinaldi having to interfere.
