Victor Félix might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Félix ran back to his position shaking his head. Kröll BK's Sebastián Trejos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 11th minute of play. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Kröll BK's Sebastián Trejos did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in Kröll BK's zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastián Trejos came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rikard Odin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute Victor Félix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Trejos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Bergström, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Primitivo Andino charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edu Cardozo in the 60th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Victor Félix ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Jan Vennerlund kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sebastián Trejos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edu Cardozo in the 79th minute of play. Sebastián Trejos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Kröll BK's Georg Örnberg was substituted for Pepito Arrelucea. Cristian Sancho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sebastián Trejos firmly grabbed it by the left post. 89 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Edu Cardozo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastián Trejos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 94th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Daniel Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sebastián Trejos. That made the score 2-3 after 94 minutes of play.
