When Rubens Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the AVAÍ F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubens Cabral couldn't finish the play. Jailson Teles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 4th minute of the match. After 10 minutes, Mariano Lacasa made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 15th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 18th minute of play forced AVAÍ F.C.'s goalkeeper Jailson Teles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jailson Teles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. Jailson Teles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Casaus in the 20th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex Sági received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Thiago Pliego came out and tried to block the shot, but Alex Sági slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 33rd minute of play forced AVAÍ F.C.'s goalkeeper Jailson Teles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rubens Cabral's late challenge caught a Chile's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubens Cabral helped the player get up and apologised. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 40th minute Chile were awarded a corner. Mariano Lacasa went to the cornerflag to take it. After 45th play minutes Mariano Lacasa shot 1-3, a short shot which went by Jailson Teles and just under the crossbar into goal. The AVAÍ F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chile were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walmyr Salles to make the kick off. Thiago Pliego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Walmyr Salles went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jailson Teles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Rubens Cabral was shown his second yellow card after 56 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Rubens Cabral hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind AVAÍ F.C.'s goalkeeper Jailson Teles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Pombal in the 68th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa scored 2-4 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jailson Teles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. AVAÍ F.C.'s Claus Van De Wiele was substituted for Dario Alegría. Mariano Lacasa in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jailson Teles, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 77th minute of the match, Guillermo Fontirroig got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jailson Teles was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Walmyr Salles scored 3-4 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thiago Pliego, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mariano Lacasa struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Jailson Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. In the 82nd minute, Ivory Gunn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jailson Teles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guillermo Fontirroig in the 85th minute. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 4-4 when Walmyr Salles sped through Chile's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The throw-in from Innocenzio Corales in the 89th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Chile's Felix Garrido. After 90 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 4-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jailson Teles was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 93rd minute, Orlando Casaus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Jailson Teles in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
