The corner ended in Miguel Miralles almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's Pikanate Savetvet did a great save. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Tomas Berganza scored to the left of an out of position Pikanate Savetvet, making the score, 3-1. Tomas Berganza took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pikanate Savetvet. Pikanate Savetvet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artemio Bernal in the 85th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Dylan Sarmiento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domenec Cediel scored 4-3 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
