A hard shot 9 in the game by Artemio Bernal from a close distance when the talented Lautaro Navarro managed to make a qualified save. Honduras's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Villa in the 16th minute of play forced Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's goalkeeper Pikanate Savetvet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute of the match, Domenec Cediel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lautaro Navarro was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Domenec Cediel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edmundo Espiga scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pikanate Savetvet, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 33 minutes into the game, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 46th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Navarro to maneuver through the defense. Thosapol Laksanapiya recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Edmundo Espiga made the kick off in the second half. Domenec Cediel might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lautaro Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Domenec Cediel ran back to his position shaking his head. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Pikanate Savetvet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Esteban Carvallo got a free kick in the 59th minute. After 61 minutes, Domenec Cediel made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 76 minutes into the match, Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's goalkeeper Pikanate Savetvet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmundo Espiga. When Domenec Cediel came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domenec Cediel couldn't finish the play. Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri made a substitution.
