In the 7th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jason Clayton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thor Brask in the 10th minute of play. Jason Clayton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Alcocer, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Thor Brask managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Clitasaurus's supporters rose to their feet, but Thor Brask was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Damian Bambas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thor Brask recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 23 minutes into the game, Thor Brask recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Thor Brask showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Benjamin Duffus managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Clitasaurus's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamin Duffus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thor Brask might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thor Brask ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of FC Clitasaurus booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jason Clayton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Puig in the 39th minute of the match. In the 42nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Thor Brask from long distance, 43 minutes into the match, got Benito Sanz's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thor Brask made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Thor Brask's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Thor Brask managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Clitasaurus's supporters rose to their feet, but Thor Brask was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alan Moruga's late challenge caught a FC Clitasaurus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Jason Clayton was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Eliseo Noboa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eliseo Noboa really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. A collision led to FC Clitasaurus getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Damian Bambas hit a great ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thor Brask in the 81st minute of the match. Efrain Moruga made in the 83rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Eliseo Noboa. Thor Brask received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Thor Brask notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that FC Clitasaurus were the better team. FC Clitasaurus's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
