In the 5th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Lama saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwidon Patora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, Veth Crystals's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Marcos Lama reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. He Lin Di struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Veth Crystals. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Veth Crystals's goalie prevented a goal. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Marcos Lama. A collision led to Veth Crystals getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Ludomir Radzyminski hit a great ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gwidon Patora was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Gwidon Patora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gwidon Patora in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwidon Patora, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 60th minute, Carlos-Armando Valderrama made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erik Persson went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Veth Crystals's Sebastian Wierzchowski was substituted for He Lin Di. After 78 played minutes Veth Crystals got a freekick which was hit by Józef Kalafus. After 80 minutes of play, Veth Crystals's Erik Persson made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Veth Crystals's Gwidon Patora in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, Veth Crystals's Marcos Lama got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Lama read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Veth Crystals's Song Xing got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 95th minute, Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Veth Crystals's Marcos Lama didn't even have to move. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Veth Crystals had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
