Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alessio Volta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 minutes, Felix Ariando mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U.P. Gavellese and the Chile players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to U.P. Gavellese getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Felix Ariando hit a great ball. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Ricardo Kaká sent off a good shot on target. After 18 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Elpidio Macias who took care of the corner kick. Bruno Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 21st minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruno Mazza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After the first half Chile were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gavellese's Rubio Gaztelumendi got a free kick in the 66th minute. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Bruno Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U.P. Gavellese's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessio Volta in the 80th minute of play. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alessio Volta's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessio Volta in the 85th minute of the match. Rubio Gaztelumendi's late challenge caught a Chile's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubio Gaztelumendi helped the player get up and apologised. After 95 played minutes U.P. Gavellese got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Della Rocca.
