An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 17th minute of play forced U.P. Gavellese's goalkeeper Bruno Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Macias in the 53rd minute of play. After 57 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. In the 59th minute, Krzysztof Jaktorowo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Bruno Mazza made a huge save. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Macias in the 63rd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of U.P. Gavellese:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mexico:s goal. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Mazza having to interfere. Ricardo Kaká sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the match, U.P. Gavellese's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Bruno Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Macias, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Bruno Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U.P. Gavellese's Bruno Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. Mexico's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because U.P. Gavellese had won, even though Mexico had held more of the ball.
