Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Odin Saue tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Qin Ke Kun came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Ballkam Sportsklubb fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Qin Ke Kun couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Abubakar, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 50 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
