After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Milagros Fraga fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bruno Antognoni quite easily take care of the ball. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Donnellson in the 87th minute of play. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 91 minutes of play, Peru's Rafael Gallo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
