In the 7th minute, Dinei Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pendotiba's goalkeeper Kuno Heiberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 10 minutes Pendotiba's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. Pastor Baraquiel let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 16th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. Kuno Heiberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Pastor Baraquiel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pastor Baraquiel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Pendotiba's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ricardinho Trigo in the 28th minute. Ricardinho Trigo kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dinei Paraibano during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dinei Paraibano hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Pastor Baraquiel tried to sneak it across the goal line. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ricardinho Trigo was slow to take the kick. During this time Pendotiba's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Ricardinho Trigo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kuno Heiberg saved Pendotiba from getting behind. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Pendotiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute of the match Tomas Illescas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kuno Heiberg skillfully saved the ball. 47 minutes into the game, Cristian Hoffmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pendotiba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pastor Baraquiel was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Pastor Baraquiel put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. After 57 minutes of play Pendotiba's Dinei Paraibano was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Pendotiba's Dinei Paraibano got a free kick in the 58th minute. Kuno Heiberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 59th minute of play. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Kuno Heiberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Pendotiba's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kuno Heiberg came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 68 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ricardinho Trigo who took care of the corner kick. 74 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Baraquiel came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kuno Heiberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pendotiba's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kuno Heiberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Allan Arruda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Baraquiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Venezuela's Kuno Heiberg threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Patricio Costa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Pendotiba's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Salvador Gisbert heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Pendotiba's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
