After 26 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Miguel Almiron who took care of the corner kick. Bonifacio Cedro was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 28th minute, Aquiles Bieito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. With a little luck, Sacro Balompié's Baltasar Sancho got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorio Jax in the 33rd minute of play. Victorio Jax scored 0-2 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Sacro Balompié's Baltasar Sancho got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Almiron got free with Julio Vera in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the match, Sacro Balompié's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Baltasar Sancho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victorio Jax in the 68thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
