The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marten Palermo in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. Chile's Mariano Lacasa got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fede Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Marten Palermo came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Fede Gomes in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Guillermo Fontirroig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fede Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Belfegor FC defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fede Gomes. The Belfegor FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fede Gomes should have stopped the shot. Belfegor FC's Domingos Nabar was substituted for Simon Lapurdi. Belfegor FC made a substitution. Saverio Orlondon replaced Cesar Barbosa. Chile were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Belfegor FC for a fine match.
