After a defensive mix-up in Victoria's zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Cauchi came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Testaferrata Abela in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 8th minute. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Aaron Alcocer charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Alcocer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Cauchi having to interfere. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Avellino made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Emanuel Avellino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Victoria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. In the 57th minute Emanuel Avellino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Avellino. The Victoria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. 86 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabian Testaferrata Abela. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fredrik Hylander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fredrik Hylander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Victoria left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
