David Schembri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 56th minute. After having played for 57 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but David Schembri in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, Northern California's David Schembri got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Chorche in the 91st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 93 minutes, David Schembri successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 94th minute, Gong Xiao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the match, Northern California's goalkeeper David Schembri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. 95 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of David Schembri. Lautaro Mancebo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Mexico's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
