The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Peru booed when Hahay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gökmen Parshan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hahay's Aigeus Milionis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 4th minute of play. After 7 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aigeus Milionis was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Hahay's zone, Julian Murillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aigeus Milionis came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aigeus Milionis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Hahay's Aigeus Milionis got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Steve Gerrard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aigeus Milionis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 27th minute. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gökmen Parshan, made in the 28th minute of the game. Aigeus Milionis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 29th minute of the match. Aigeus Milionis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 36th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Hahay made a substitution. Wawrzyniec Glapiak replaced Steve Gerrard. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Blažej Ravanelli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aigeus Milionis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 57th minute of play. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 58th minute. At last the ball reached Alonso Berganza at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Hahay. 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blažej Ravanelli got free with Rolando Noboa in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aigeus Milionis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Blažej Ravanelli in the 73rd minute. In the 76th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aigeus Milionis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aigeus Milionis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 82nd minute of play. Hahay's Segundo Videl was substituted for Iwan Skaradoski. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 92nd minute Antonio Tenorio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aigeus Milionis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Peru had played much better football throughout.
