Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Olimpiu Dichiseanu sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Academia Rio defense, Patricio Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gigel Tilea. The Academia Rio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gigel Tilea should have stopped the shot. Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 17th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergiu Coșeriu in the 18th minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergiu Coșeriu in the 24th minute of play. When Jean Oltean fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia Rio's protests and gave Jean Oltean a yellow card for diving instead. Sergiu Coșeriu took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 36th minute, Venezuela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sergiu Coșeriu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 40 minutes in the game Nicolae Hizo did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Olimpiu Dichiseanu. Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 41st minute of the match. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Sergiu Coșeriu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 44th minute Academia Rio were awarded a corner. Nicolae Hizo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Academia Rio's Nicolae Hizo to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Academia Rio's Sergiu Coșeriu shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-2 in the ordered_time% minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 5-2 when Olimpiu Dichiseanu sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dumitru Pantelimon, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute of the match Academia Rio got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nicolae Hizo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Academia Rio's corner Nicolae Hizo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgil Şimonca during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Virgil Şimonca hit a great ball. Virgil Şimonca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 87 minutes, Gigel Tilea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergiu Coșeriu in the 88th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 89th minute. When the referee ended the match the Academia Rio players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
