The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Szentgotthárd's József Sallói fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Konstanty Dzierwa in the 10th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Konstanty Dzierwa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 16th minute Szentgotthárd were awarded a corner. Bálint Benedek went to the cornerflag to take it. When Szentgotthárd's József Sallói in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. In the 25thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Szentgotthárd's Kornél Hajdú was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Szentgotthárd's József Sallói fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jonathan Ferrant stood somewhat misplaced when József Sallói came free in front of goal and shot 4-0 to the left of him in the 34 minute. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st match minute, Szentgotthárd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Konstanty Dzierwa to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 43 in the game by József Sallói from a close distance when the talented Jonathan Ferrant managed to make a qualified save. Venezuela's players were relieved. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when József Sallói scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 5-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Szentgotthárd booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Kornél Hajdú made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Szentgotthárd's Adorján Angyal got a free kick in the 65th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from József Sallói, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Szentgotthárd's goalkeeper Kornél Hajdú had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Jonathan Venegas charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathan Venegas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 77 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, József Sallói managed to get in a good position for a shot. Szentgotthárd's supporters rose to their feet, but József Sallói was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from József Sallói, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Kornél Hajdú tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Szentgotthárd's Zakariás Tótfalusi. But to his dismay, Zakariás Tótfalusi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0.
