Renan Mendes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jimmy Örtendal in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jimmy Örtendal's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. The supporters of Mexico booed when Matanza and Steelers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonza Victoria didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Leysus Oktavianus recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dante Lacasa. Leysus Oktavianus showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After 29 played minutes Matanza and Steelers got a freekick which was hit by Gonza Victoria. 30 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 32nd minute of play forced Matanza and Steelers's goalkeeper Renan Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renan Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 34th minute of the match. César Lucas hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. The wind increased when Ulrico Herzog made the kick off in the second half. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. 95 minutes into the match, Matanza and Steelers's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Renan Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Matanza and Steelers players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
