The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mariano Lacasa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kartal Oğuz made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. FC VULTURII LUGOJ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Augustin Hurmuzescu in the 29th minute. The corner led FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Augustin Hurmuzescu to fire away a dangerous shot which Thiago Pliego despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Kartal Oğuz got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Leontin Trifu's late challenge caught a Chile's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The wind increased when Rafael Corrêa made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Francisco Carballar hit a great ball. Augustin Hurmuzescu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Thiago Pliego. Chile's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kartal Oğuz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56thth minute of the game Mariano Lacasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Kartal Oğuz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariano Lacasa in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kartal Oğuz saved FC VULTURII LUGOJ from getting behind. With splendid footwork Rafael Corrêa arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-1 by the left pole in the game's 58th minute. In the 65th minute, Mariano Lacasa made a precise shot to the right of Kartal Oğuz. FC VULTURII LUGOJ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. FC VULTURII LUGOJ made a substitution. Luis Figo replaced Rafael Corrêa. The supporters of FC VULTURII LUGOJ booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Pozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Luis Figo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mariano Lacasa in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kartal Oğuz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC VULTURII LUGOJ's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
