Pil SK's Jens-Ove Göransson quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Leoz, made in the 5th minute of the game. Pil SK's Alwi Songgonau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Pil SK from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute, Torbjörn Rosendal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pil SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Alwi Songgonau made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alwi Songgonau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Pil SK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luca Rouco made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Pil SK's Alwi Songgonau managed to reach the ball for a save. Alwi Songgonau made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torbjörn Rosendal in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes in the game, Joel Gaona fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Alwi Songgonau having to interfere. Alwi Songgonau made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 20th minute. Pil SK's Alwi Songgonau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Pil SK from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torbjörn Rosendal in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th minute, Torbjörn Rosendal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Pil SK's Jens-Ove Göransson managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Leoz in the 27 minute of the game. 34 minutes into the game, Leonardo Leoz threw the ball into play from the sideline. Pil SK's Jens-Ove Göransson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Alwi Songgonau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Pil SK's Dan Västberg got a free kick in the 44th minute. After 45 played minutes Pil SK got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Hägglund.

In the 62nd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alwi Songgonau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alwi Songgonau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 66th minute of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Torbjörn Rosendal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pil SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Torbjörn Rosendal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alwi Songgonau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tony Berglund blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. Tony Berglund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. After 88 minutes, Luca Zorita made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Pil SK's Alwi Songgonau tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 95 minutes into the match, Pil SK's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Alwi Songgonau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
