Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ana Ţugui in the 5th minute. In the 10th minute, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Virgil Mincu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The supporters of -BZF- Valea Buzăului booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Virgil Mincu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 18th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Manole Tăcutu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Codruț Macaneață hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dănuț Roman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Iona Tudora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Manole Tăcutu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Dănuț Roman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. When Gelu Jumancă fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored -BZF- Valea Buzăului's protests and gave Gelu Jumancă a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Gelu Jumancă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dănuț Roman made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dănuț Roman in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Virgil Mincu went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 58 minutes of play, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Virgil Mincu made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! When -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Dănuț Roman in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Manole Tăcutu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Virgil Mincu's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dănuț Roman in the 77th minute of play. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dănuț Roman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Dănuț Roman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgil Mincu in the 86th minute of play. Dănuț Roman took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. In the 97th minute, Teodor Finteșteanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
