Julian Murillo ran back to his position shaking his head. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

51 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Blunt came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartlomiej Chazen, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Dick Stephansson made in the 64th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Anthony Alvarado. After a rather tough play, Peru's Eliseo Mina got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Dick Stephansson got a throw-in 85 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sertel Sümer. Peru were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Astral's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eliseo Mina took the corner. Rafael Gallo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
