Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Waldemar Radzyminski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. In the 52nd minute of the match Bjørn Solbakk sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Lukasz Hatman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. In the 86th minute, Walery Golembiewski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliseo Noboa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldemar Radzyminski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play.
