Daniel Hanot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Alströmer in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Hanot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 13th minute of play forced Furia Calamar's goalkeeper Daniel Hanot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Hanot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 14th minute of the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Furia Calamar's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Juan Sebastián Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jozef Barmoš was slow to take the kick. During this time Furia Calamar's players had a chance to rest. In the 22nd match minute, Furia Calamar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Meng Mo Yi to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Epifanio Gagriel's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Daniel Hanot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Daniel Hanot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Rolando Delfino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Furia Calamar's Daniel Hanot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of play. After 39 minutes Furia Calamar's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 42nd minute Epifanio Gagriel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jozef Barmoš who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Jozef Barmoš got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Furia Calamar getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Baldomero Amato hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.

Furia Calamar made a substitution. Hipolito Manni replaced Conrado Savion. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rolando Delfino to make the kick off. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damaso Sotero, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Daniel Hanot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 61st minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 65th minute, Niklas Alströmer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Hanot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 66th minute. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Hanot having to interfere. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 75 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. When Damaso Sotero came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Furia Calamar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damaso Sotero couldn't finish the play. Damaso Sotero hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Furia Calamar's Daniel Hanot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Rolando Delfino came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 92 minutes, Luis Andino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Furia Calamar players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Jozef Barmoš stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Jozef Barmoš tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 95th minute.
