A sloppy throw-in by 吴辉适 in the 38th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant. 许枫星 came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by El Salvador's Abram Luque. But to his dismay, Abram Luque quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 42 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when 蒋云耀 came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 许枫星 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 韩常斌 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
