With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Thomas Vollmar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mikolaj Jerzyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Pacholewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 30th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Mikolaj Jerzyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Newcastle United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Adam Pacholewski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. In the 38th minute, Newcastle United's Thomas Vollmar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute, Lautaro Mancebo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newcastle United's goalkeeper Mikolaj Jerzyk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. If Facundo Cadaval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pankracy Malicki in the 53rd minute of the match. The Newcastle United fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Newcastle United's Adam Pacholewski looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Newcastle United's Adam Pacholewski. But to his dismay, Adam Pacholewski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. If Thomas Vollmar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute Pankracy Malicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mikolaj Jerzyk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Pacholewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute, Lautaro Mancebo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mikolaj Jerzyk. The goal made the score 4-1. 88 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mikolaj Jerzyk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Mikolaj Jerzyk made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. In the 94th minute, Zé Paulo Zonta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
