After a defensive mix-up in SuperDepor's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Radu Tarchilă came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Călin Bolborici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Călin Bolborici in the 33rd minute. Lautaro Mancebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Radu Tarchilă read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. SuperDepor's Radu Tarchilă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 35th minute of play. Răzvan Anghel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iustinian Comăneci received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Iustinian Comăneci slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 42nd minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

51 minutes into the match, SuperDepor's goalkeeper Radu Tarchilă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Radu Tarchilă threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iustinian Comăneci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iustinian Comăneci scored 3-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
