After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Ander Lepist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. When Augusto da Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the FC LauB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto da Cunha couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes in the game Alex Pasin did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Pascual Markel. If Mario Mendez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 32 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rutger Danielsson was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ander Lepist, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. FC LauB's Mario Mendez got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC LauB's goalie prevented a goal. After 53 played minutes FC LauB got a freekick which was hit by Ander Lepist. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ander Lepist in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Mario Mendez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 0-2. In the 61st minute, Oriche Rotges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rutger Danielsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the game, Jose Correa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC LauB the free kick. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Pascual Markel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Patricio Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rutger Danielsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rutger Danielsson. Rutger Danielsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. FC LauB's Mario Mendez got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC LauB's Kjell-Arne Björck was substituted for Andrzej Brysz. Rutger Danielsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 96th minute Ander Lepist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC LauB played a much better game than Venezuela and deserved their victory. The Venezuela players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
