The Average Joes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victoriano Abel should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Victoriano Abel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Arthur Saba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joshua Secada in the 58th minute of play forced Average Joes's goalkeeper Victoriano Abel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Costa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 62nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 68 played minutes Average Joes got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Sousa. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Average Joes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Arthur Saba took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. In the 88th minute, Nils-Emil Gulliksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Average Joes's goalkeeper Victoriano Abel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 94th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Arthur Saba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Average Joes fully deserved thier win.
