Rene Vereijt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Koby Wright, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jax Williamson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dani Rojas, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dani Rojas in the 11th minute of play forced Canada's goalkeeper Jax Williamson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Canada's Nate Mills got a free kick in the 16th minute. After having played for 25 minutes, Dani Rojas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Ouagadougou National's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dani Rojas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dani Rojas in the 27th minute of play forced Canada's goalkeeper Jax Williamson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Canada's Carter George in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Ouagadougou National's goalie prevented a goal. If Robert Justus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Ouagadougou National's Rene Vereijt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save FC Ouagadougou National from getting a goal against them. A hard shot 42 in the game by Luka Harris from a close distance when the talented Rene Vereijt managed to make a qualified save. FC Ouagadougou National's players were relieved. Jan Dixon charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan Dixon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

51 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's goal looked a bit too open when Rohan Watson came free, but Rene Vereijt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abdulla Baia came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jax Williamson could save by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rohan Watson in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rene Vereijt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 59th minute Rohan Watson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Vereijt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Canada's Theo Burton was substituted for Rohan Watson. Canada's Filip Edwards was substituted for Koby Wright. Canada were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after FC Ouagadougou National's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jan Dixon took the corner. Rene Vereijt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carter George in the 67th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Theo Burton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rene Vereijt was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Canada's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jan Dixon in the 71st minute. The corner ended in Luka Harris almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Ouagadougou National's Rene Vereijt did a great save. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Luka Harris sped through FC Ouagadougou National's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rene Vereijt. Canada made a substitution. Prince Anderson replaced Carter George. Abdulla Baia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jax Williamson having to interfere. Rene Vereijt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filip Edwards, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. When Canada's Filip Edwards in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Rene Vereijt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prince Anderson in the 93rd minute of play. After 94 minutes FC Ouagadougou National's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jan Dixon who took care of the corner kick. Canada's Jan Dixon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rene Vereijt in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Canada had played much better football throughout.
