København got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vilmer Tokkesdal ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led F.C. København's Vilmer Tokkesdal to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, F.C. København's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Blas Cidro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. København's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Blas Cidro came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Victorino Abajas sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Blas Cidro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Blas Cidro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Augustin Staalfos came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, F.C. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. F.C. København were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mexico for a fine match.
