The referee ignored Keyes's protests and gave Wiktor Fujara a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Keyes getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Wiktor Fujara hit a great ball. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Keyes booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Ros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bartlomiej Pleban who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Marcos Cotilla when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Wiktor Fujara was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 41 minutes had been played. Wiktor Fujara kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After 44 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Isidoro Sarmiento. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Czeslaw Gorzkiewicz went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. After the first half Panama were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Dylan Sarmiento hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Czeslaw Gorzkiewicz in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Cotilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Panama's Alex Cambeiro got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After 87 played minutes Keyes got a freekick which was hit by Zbyszek Chazon. 89 minutes into the match, Keyes's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Sarmiento came free, but Wit Literski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wit Literski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Panama played a much better game than Keyes and deserved their victory. The Keyes players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
