In the 5th minute Stor Klack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Abraham Alguacil hit a great ball. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stor Klack went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 18th match minute, Worst Team Ever was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Hedlund to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stor Klack, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evert Norberg made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Abraham Alguacil sent off a good shot on target. Abraham Alguacil was shown his second yellow card after 35 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 36th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abraham Alguacil to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaias Eguerdi in the 61st minute of play. In the 65th minute, Isaias Eguerdi made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 68 minutes into the game, Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Evert Norberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Stor Klack sent off a good shot on target. After 74 played minutes Worst Team Ever got a freekick which was hit by Carl Viklund. In the 80th minute of the match Panama got a corner. Worst Team Ever's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Berganza ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Isidoro Sarmiento got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Evert Norberg quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 82nd minute Isaias Eguerdi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evert Norberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 83rd minute of play. Panama's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Berganza in the 84th minute. After having played for 86 minutes, Isidoro Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isidoro Sarmiento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Evert Norberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Worst Team Ever getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Felix Hedlund hit a great ball. In the 90th minute, Miguel Miralles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Worst Team Ever's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
