Aleksandr Abdrakhmanov came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerasim Lyutov in the 12th minute of play. Benjamin Artmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrey Savischev went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aleksandr Abdrakhmanov having to make a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience was convinced that Gerasim Lyutov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. ФК КрасноДАР's defense didn't have a chance, in the 54th minute, when Tomas Illescas scored to the left of an out of position Aleksandr Abdrakhmanov, making the score, 1-2. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Artmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aleksandr Abdrakhmanov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 63rd minute. After some careless play in the ФК КрасноДАР defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aleksandr Abdrakhmanov. The ФК КрасноДАР fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aleksandr Abdrakhmanov should have stopped the shot. ФК КрасноДАР's Luka Gagnidze was substituted for Oleg Aleksandrov. Although ФК КрасноДАР had been in control for most of the match, Venezuela still came away with the win.
