With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ildefonso Foro in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. The corner led Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's Inaki Mirabal to fire away a dangerous shot which Marco Day despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Abelardo Janpier in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Inaki Mirabal hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Todd Gronow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

50 minutes into the game, USA's Monty Rogers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abelardo Janpier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. A collision led to Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Enzo Cope hit a great ball. With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Todd Gronow tried to sneak it across the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Abelardo Janpier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Hipolito Nafarroa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's Andreas Harlén was substituted for Ildefonso Foro. A collision led to Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Hipolito Nafarroa hit a great ball. Marco Day made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Todd Gronow sent off a good shot on target. Abelardo Janpier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Campbell, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Todd Gronow had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Day. Abelardo Janpier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Khalid Parry, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. USA were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jenson Smith took the corner. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
